We are Self Managed Learners!!

In Room 19 we have been working on being self managed learners. What this means is when we are at our action stations we are trying to complete all our self managed learning tasks. In the 'quiet space' we are trying to complete a handwriting activity, copy out our fast words and write in our free writing journal. In the 'number space' we want to do an activity from each of the coloured boxes. These help us to learn to read and write our numbers, put our numbers in the correct order, count up to 50 and practice adding and subtracting. The chart looks like this....

It is colour coded so we just find the box with the matching colour and choose an activity from inside. Then we can tick it off for the day. We know when we do all of our SML tasks we can go on the fun action stations like art, playdough and construction.

Here are some photos of us being amazing self managers and working on our learning goals....

Warriors Visit!

This week we had the warriors to visit us on Thursday afternoon. They spoke to us about how we can live healthy lives and played some fun games with us! Here are some photos from the afternoon!

Library Change

Kia ora whānau,

We now visit the library every Monday morning. Please ensure your child has their reading folders and library books with them so they are able to renew their books.

Our new big buddies

On Friday we got to meet our new year 7/8 big buddies! They came down to room 19 to meet us and look at our classroom. We showed them around the classroom and where everything belongs. We read stories with them, showed them our writing and drew pictures. They asked us some questions to get to know us and we asked them some back! We even got to go out into the playground and practice showing the CARE values with them. It was so much fun!!
