Athletics Practice with our Year 7/8 Big Buddies

This term for Physical Education we are practicing our skills for Run, Jump, Throw. As part of this we are doing athletics every Friday with our big buddies. They have planned some fun rotations for us where we get to develop our skills in preparation for the Kākano athletics day.

We are learning to:
RUNNING
- Run quickly
- Run for longer
- Run over obstacles
- Maintain a pace
- Give and receive objects

JUMPING
- Jump after a run up
- Link a number of jumps together
- Jump for distance and height

THROWING
- Link a run up to the throw
- Throw for distance
- Use different techniques (push, pull, sling, heave)
- Use different equipment
- Investigate relationships between heights and angles of release
